SMS Blasts Overview

An overview and important information regarding SMS Blasts and SMS marketing

SMS Blasts, also known as text message marketing, is now available for US studios through Loyalsnap!

(Note: We are currently working hard to bring this feature to international clients and will continue to keep our clients updated about release information)

SMS Blasts are an efficient way to send studio and class updates, promotions, and general communications to your clients at once. Traditional marketing emails and newsletters have been seeing a decline in their engagement rates in recent years. SMS marketing has a 209% higher response rate than phone calls or email, and is the quickest way for clients to see your new promotions!

Important Things to Know

There is a lot to keep in mind when it comes to text marketing, so our team wants to ensure we are giving you all the right information you need to be set up for success!

  1. Marketing Phone Number: Your SMS marketing phone number will be different than your phone number that sends Automations and manual text messages. Sometimes with SMS marketing, your number can be flagged as SPAM from providers (Tmobile, ATT, Verizon) and so we utilize different phone numbers to ensure that your standard texting line remains secure with Loyalsnap!
  1. Restrictions: To prevent sending marketing messages at late hours in the evening, you are unable to schedule messages past 7:30PM your local time. However, we completely understand there are many instances where you may need to get out a message late to your clients, such as important weather updates! For these cases, you do have the ability to manually send an SMS Blast past 7:30PM local time to make sure you are able to get the message out quick to your clients!
  1. Message Length: Due to restrictions put in place by the providers, you are limited to sending 2000 segments total via SMS Blast per day. You can distribute this however you’d like! You can send a 1 segment message to 2000 clients, or a 500 segment message to 4! You can split up the segments across multiple blasts as well!
  1. Cost: SMS Blast messages reflect the same costs as any messages sent. For US studios, the cost is $0.01, per segment (160 characters), per recipient. For example, if you send a message that is 200 characters long (2 segments) to 20 clients, the cost would be $0.40 for your Blast!
  1. Opt-In: Please see our support article Opting-In Clients for SMS Blasts for all the details you’ll need to know about opting-in your clients to SMS Blasts!

Compliance Best Practices

The most important thing to keep in mind about SMS Blasts is compliance. Compliance is highly important with SMS marketing and Loyalsnap is dedicated to set you up for success! We provide you with both automatic best practice in our platform, while also teaching you best practice when building and sending your blasts!

  1. It is of the utmost importance to make sure you have proper consent from each recipient of the message you're sending.
    1. Written and implied consent are both very important to sending marketing messages to your clients! Make sure that all of your clients have provided you with the appropriate consent to send studio updates and promotions via SMS.

  1. Always be sure to include the instructions on how to opt-out of all future texts.
    1. We include a checkbox at the bottom of your blast to add the opt-out language to your blast for your convenience!

Our system will automatically respect these opt-outs for you if a client replies replies STOP.

  1. It’s a good idea to mention your studio's name!
    1. This is a great practice to incorporate so your clients can be aware of exactly who they are receiving the message from! This can be accomplished in the same opt-out message used above.
